Yorkshire Surprise Royal

Blue line diagram for Yorkshire Surprise Royal

Yorkshire has a Plain Bob coursing order i.e. 246809753 (cyclical. You can start anywhere in the order).

Apart from when the treble is there, at the back you always dodge up with your course bell and down with your after bell.

In the first half of the course i.e. from 2nds place to 3rds place bell you never dodge with your course bell in an internal place. In fact you run through your course bell and make Yorkshire places in the next pair of places i.e. in 6ths place bell you will pass your course bell in 5/6 up and you will make places in 7/8 up.

In the second half of the course i.e. from 4ths place bell to 2nds place bell you never dodge internally with your after bell. In fact when you are making places your after bell will pass through you and make places in the next available pair of places, you will then run through their places.

In the first half of the course omit the dodge before you make places. In the second half of the course omit the dodge after you have made places.

The places in each lead add up to 10! i.e. in 6ths place bell you make places in 1/2 and 7/8 = 10. This rule works for Yorkshire on any number.
